While I appreciate a mystery that remains unsolved in my own mind until the author’s reveal, I found myself coming away from the read with an overall impression of a slow plod from beginning to end that largely remained uneventful and unsurprising.
Though there were moments of breathless intrigue and suspense, this was largely a slow read that required a suspension of belief in a number of places and contained dialogue that read stiltedly and awkwardly.
Highly recommended for fans of crime fiction revolving around unsolved disappearances and serial killer thrillers underpinned by pointed social justice issues
A compelling, harrowing read with an excellent build of suspense, authentic characters, and an uneasy, growing awareness of the dangers lurking just on the other side of the bed.
